Requesting a refund

You may request a refund within 14 days of a charge by emailing [email protected] from the email on your account, with the date of the charge and the email or order reference from your Lemon Squeezy receipt. If your request is within the window, we will approve a refund of that charge.

How refunds are processed

Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record, so it processed your original payment and it processes the refund. Once we approve a refund, it is issued through Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method. The time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer, typically a few business days. You may also contact Lemon Squeezy directly about a charge using the receipt they sent you.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. Cancelling on its own does not trigger a refund of the period you already paid for — if you want a refund of the most recent charge, request one within the window above. To cancel, manage your subscription from the Kiln dashboard or through the link on your Lemon Squeezy receipt.

Partial periods and renewals

Subscriptions renew monthly. Refunds for a partial month, or for a renewal you meant to cancel but missed, are considered case by case and granted at our discretion — just reach out and tell us what happened, and we will try to do right by you. We would always rather sort it out than leave you stuck with a charge you did not want.

When a refund may not apply

We may decline a refund where the request is well outside the 14 days window, where there is evidence of fraud or abuse of this policy, or where required records show the service was used in bad faith. This policy does not limit any rights you have under the consumer-protection laws that apply to you, which always take precedence.

Free and open-source use

Self-hosting Kiln is free and open source, so there is nothing to refund there. This policy applies only to the paid hosted plans on our Pricing page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. The policy in effect at the time of your charge applies to that charge.
